Antacids

All antacids have alkaline properties and relieve dyspepsia by chemically neutralising the stomach acid. They are commonly used to treat very mild GORD, but there is little evidence of their efficacy in the treatment of EOR.

Mujica and Rao support the role of antacids and lifestyle changes during Phase I of the treatment regime,[Mujica VR, 1999] and some very early studies show a reduction in globus sensation with antacids.
